FormatKit
FORMATKIT / PRIVACY

Your files stay on your device.

FormatKit's current conversion preview processes selected files in browser memory. It does not upload file contents, filenames, PDF passwords or conversion results to a conversion server or GPT provider.

What the website loads

Your browser downloads the site and conversion libraries from this site's origin. Word and PDF tools load only when used and may request bundled fonts, character maps and decoders from the same origin. These requests contain asset paths, not your file contents. The hosting provider handles normal website request metadata, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver the site. No advertising or analytics scripts are included in this build.

Storage and downloads

FormatKit saves only your light/dark theme choice in local storage. It does not store your selected files or generated outputs in local storage, IndexedDB or an account. Files and results remain in memory while the page is open. Clear all removes them from the active queue; leaving the page also clears it. Closing a page is not a guarantee of forensic memory erasure.

Downloads are saved wherever your browser places them. Those files remain under your control after the page closes. Browser caches may retain the public application code and libraries, which contain no uploaded files. Browser extensions and your device's operating system are outside FormatKit's control.

Accounts and purchases

This is a free conversion preview. It has no account registration, login, payment collection or subscriptions. Future cloud or paid features will need separate account, retention and payment controls before release.

Source and limitations

Conversion can change information; review the format and fidelity guide before using the output. Keep the source files. FormatKit uses locally hosted PDF.js (Apache 2.0) pdf-lib (MIT), fflate (MIT) and sax (Blue Oak 1.0.0); their licenses are included with the application assets.
